2) September 12 & 13 -- Halfway to Hollywood Film Festival presents Palestinian Film "Divine Intervention"

Palestinian director and performer Elia Suleiman delivers a darkly comic masterpiece. Suleiman utilizes irreverence, wit, mysticism and insight to craft an intense, hallucinogenic and extremely adept exploration of the dreams and nightmares of Palestinians and Israelis living in uncertain times. Suleiman's eye-popping directorial interventions, are what earned him the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes. (89 minutes. Directed by Elia Suleiman.)

This film is part of the Halfway to Hollywood Film Festival running September 12-21. There are several other exciting, controversial films showcased in this festival, including "Bonhoeffer" on the resistance to Hitler, "My Terrorist" depicting reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians, and "Ten" a film about Iran seen through the eyes of an Iranian woman.
